According to a report, New York City once again won the crown of the richest city in the world with the highest number of millionaires in 2023.

After New York, Tokyo and the San Francisco Bay Area, with millionaire populations of 290,300 and 25,000 respectively, are the richest cities. The World’s Richest Cities Report 2023 includes 97 cities from nine regions of the world (Africa, Australia, CIS, East Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, South Asia and Southeast Asia).
America continues to dominate the list with its four cities New York, The Bay Area, Los Angeles and Chicago. Two Chinese cities (Beijing and Shanghai) are also on the list. With 258,000 resident high-net-worth individuals (HNWI), London came fourth on this year’s list. After this, Singapore is in fifth place with 240 thousand 100.
London was the world’s top city for millionaires in 2020. But in the last 20 years, London has dropped down the list. New York City is also known as the Big Apple. New York is home to 3,40,000 millionaires and 58 billionaires. This city is also home to the world’s two largest stock exchanges (NYSE and Nasdaq).
The city includes the five boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island, and is home to some of the most exclusive residential streets in the world, including Manhattan’s Rooftop Avenue, where prime apartments cost more than $27,000 per square meter.
