Bryophyllum is also known as air-plant, life-plant, cathedral bells and magic leaf and it is very useful. Its scientific name is Kalanchoe pinnata plant. Its leaves are used in kidney and urinary diseases. It also flushes out the toxins accumulated in the stomach. According to Ayurveda, it can be called a health insurance plant because it saves money spent on diseases.
In Ayurveda, stones are said to be used for kidney problems. It removes the stones quickly and also removes the problem of urinary irritation, urinary incontinence etc. It works like a panacea if there is a swelling problem. Grinding four to five leaves to make a paste and applying it on the swollen area solves the problem of pain, itching and swelling.
It is very beneficial in preventing bloody diarrhoea. If you have stomach problems or bloody diarrhea, mix a pinch of cumin seeds and half a spoonful of pure ghee in its leaf juice and take it twice a day.
In vaginal infection, itching, swelling and vaginal discharge, boiling its leaves in water and making a poultice and consuming it regularly with honey is beneficial. In order to control high blood pressure, the leaves of Patharchatta should be made into an extract and consumed. After extracting the juice of Patharchatta and mixing 5-5 drops in regular water and consuming it on an empty stomach, it is very beneficial for the stomach.
